Here are three case studies illustrating aspects of our work. Email us for more details.
A governance review for the Lullaby Trust (Formerly Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths)
The Lullaby Trust is the primary funder of medical research into the causes of sudden infant death; the main supporter of bereaved parents; and a strong advocate of preventative action. The charity has recently agreed a new strategy with ambitious new targets for ensuring that every parent has the advice and support to care for their baby safely. The Trust commissioned Belinda Pratten and Rosie Chapman Associates to undertake a governance review to bring the charity’s governance arrangements up-to-date, in line with best practice, and consistent with its new strategic direction.
Client feedback: “I was very pleased with Rosie and Belinda’s work. They are impressive both individually and as a team in terms of their wide knowledge and depth of experience. They worked to a tight timetable and met our brief fully. In terms of output, Rosie and Belinda produced a well written and detailed report for the trustees about future governance.” Francine Bates, OBE chief executive, The Lullaby Trust
An independent review of Mind’s affiliation framework, and national Mind’s relationship with the local Mind network of charities
Mind is the leading mental health charity for England and Wales. The charity asked for advice on how it might engage more effectively with local Minds, and with other organisations with an interest in mental health and well-being issues. Mind wanted advice on how it might improve its relationships with existing members; adopt new criteria for accepting new members and other options for broadening its networks. It also asked for an assessment of the risks and opportunities associated with the various options.
“Belinda Pratten and Rosie Chapman Associates worked with us collaboratively and openly: supporting us to refine our brief and objectives then delivering clear options and ideas. Their expertise enabled us to articulate and explore what we want to achieve and the reasons for it.” Claire Hardy, Director of Networks and Communities, Mind
An independent evaluation of Sheila McKechnie Foundation’s work and impact
Sheila McKechnie Foundation aims to ‘help develop a new generation of campaigners who are tackling the root causes of injustice’. Belinda Pratten and Rosie Chapman Associates were selected to carry out an independent evaluation of SMK, its quality and impact, and to make recommendations for the charity’s future direction and priorities based on those findings.
“SMK is delighted with the evaluation work carried out for us by Belinda Pratten and Rosie Chapman Associates. They were thorough, knowledgeable and professional, and quickly got to the heart of things, with useful findings and recommendations that have helped us to improve both delivery and strategy.” Linda Butcher, chief executive, SMK
